How did you decide which country/program to study abroad in?
I decided to study abroad in Germany because of a lifelong interest in German language and culture.
What were you excited about and/or nervous about before your program?
I was very excited to be surrounded by a different culture. I was nervous to test out my German skills.
What was your favorite place that you traveled to or an activity you did while abroad?
One of my favorite places that I traveled to was Salzburg, Austria- just a 3-hour train ride from Augsburg, Germany
Could you articulate one personal/professional/academic goal you achieved while abroad?
I had the goal to significantly improve my German language skills and I believe I did that. At the start of the trip, I really struggled to understand native spoken German, with all its speed and colloquialisms. By the end of the trip, I did better understanding spoken German and was better able to converse in German.
