Trying new cuisines in Budapest

Friday, July 14, 2023

How did you decide which country/program to study abroad in?

I knew I wanted to have a taste of what studying abroad would be so X272 was an amazing opportunity to not be committed to an entire semester abroad.

What were you excited about and/or nervous about before your program?

I was excited about the sight-seeing and nervous about what to do with my spare time.

What was your favorite place that you traveled to or an activity you did while abroad?

My favorite place was exploring all of Budapest. It is such a large city, every corner has stunning architecture with no modern skylines and buildings.

Could you articulate one personal/professional/academic goal you achieved while abroad?

A personal goal I achieved while abroad was trying different local cuisines. For example, I had never tried duck or goose, but they were quite delicious. An academic goal was reflecting and journaling throughout the experience to grow an appreciation for a new culture.

What advice would you like to give to future study abroad students?

Be extremely open to meeting new friends because being friends with the entire group creates more fun memories.
